A private investor group engaged us to help ensure the successful launch of their aircraft start-up. Our first assignment was to build an executive team of some of best-known leadership talent in aviation. Our next initiative was the build-out of a world class technical management organization. An aviation scheduling software start-up, in stealth mode, hired us to secure a key member of their executive leadership team. The leadership team was primarily made up of industry executives who were convinced that this person should come from their industry. After introducing 2 qualified candidates that met their criteria, we convinced the selection team to consider an alternative strategy. The problem they were trying to solve involved a plethora of facilities located around the US, coupled with the scheduling huge numbers of arrivals and departures of equipment - not unlike the car rental business. We encouraged them to consider an extraordinary leader from the rental car industry whose innovative business model would lead them on an unexpected path of significant ROI to investors.
We participated with a major Aerospace and Defense sector employer (100K+ employees) in one of the first Talent Asset Management initiatives. The exercise was to identify their highest potential future leadership talent. The task was to select future leaders from their current highest performing employees (high-potentials) and then train, groom and promote them into this conglomerate's leaders of tomorrow. They were looking at the top 0.005% of the employee population. The divisions we were supporting put forward just one or two names each. One of the names we submitted almost 2 decades earlier, ultimately became the CEO of the corporation.
A Commercial Space unicorn asked us to conduct a search for the leader of a major Space vehicle program. Previous efforts failed to assemble an acceptable candidate slate.
